During our approval process for the solar system that SDG&E requires, it was found that we will not be able to use the distributed inverter design we had planned for our solar system due to the wiring limitations of our 40+ year old main electricity wiring. However, our solar contracting company has come up with an alternative design that will work as well and does not add any additional cost. We are now in the process of a revised application for approval with SDG&E. Although we can't control how long SDG&E will require to give their approval, we still plan to have the solar system installed and operational by the end of the year and, maybe, well before then.
We're excited to start using the sun to provide our common area electricity needs and save us about $800/month for a long time to come!
