Timberlane II HOA has a contract with Rodent Pest Technologies to regularly inspect and manage animal pest problems that can arise in our community including rodents, termites and other pests. You've probably seen some of the rodent traps that have been placed around our community to keep these critters in check. However, the recent rains seem to have driven some uninvited rodent pests into our community and, in some case, into the patios or homes of some of our residents. If you have a pest problem, feel free to contact Management De Novo (our property management company) at wecare@mgmtdenovo.com or (760) 724-2001 to report the issue and they will contact Rodent Pest Technologies for a resolution. Or, you may want to contact the San Diego County Vector Control Program. They'll come out and perform a free rat inspection and give you tips and tools to control these vermin. If these rats are coming from a neighboring property, they'll work with that owner to resolve the issue without you having to deal with our neighbors directly.
About 20 Timberlane II residents turned out in person for our HOA annual meeting on Monday evening, January 22nd, and had the opportunity to meet and get to know their board members and our property manager, Liz Buenrostro from Management De Novo, and to share their thoughts and ideas for improving our community. However, unfortunately, the number of ballots cast for the three open 2018-19 HOA board positions failed to meet the required 70 ballot quorum. So, no official meeting or ballot count were held. If you are an owner of a unit at Timberlane II and have not yet voted for your favorite candidate(s), you can still make your vote count by sending in your ballot to the address on the envelope you received with your ballot. If you do not have a ballot and would like one sent to you, please contact Liz at wecare@mgmtdenovo.com or call her at (760) 724-2001. The next count of the ballots will be held at the regular February HOA board meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018, so be sure to return your ballot by mail before then or just bring it with you to the meeting, which starts at 7:00pm. Our community Bylaws lower the required quorum for this next meeting to 25% of the possible ballots and we have already met this requirement with the votes submitted ballots, but your vote can still affect the election outcome.
As a reminder, you are being asked to vote as many as 3 votes. These can be all for the same candidate or spread across the listed candidates or a write-in candidate. Currently, there are two listed candidates, both of whom are incumbents and have served on the HOA board for at least two years: Joanne Fischer (our current HOA board President) and Louis Solomon (our current HOA board Treasurer). In addition, another owner/resident has announced his interest in being elected to the Board as a write-in candidate: Ben Adelstein. Please cast your vote for any or all of these announced candidates or for another owner as a write-in vote. If you have already submitted your ballot, your votes are still valid and binding and you do not need to vote again. If you care about our community and want to have a say in making Timberlane II the best it can be, then please take the time to vote in this important election. We have some interesting opportunities and issues ahead of us in 2018 and we need to elect representatives who have the ability to make wise decisions to steer us in the right directions. |
